Gigelberghalle

The Gigelberghalle is a hall built in 1895 on the Gigelberg in Biberach an der Riss .

history

It was built by the city architect at the time, Preiser, as a gymnasium , ballroom and recruiting hall using the half-timbered construction and, together with the city beer hall built in 1895, belongs to the ensemble of the park area on the Gigelberg, which was built on the initiative of Friedrich Goll above the old town . During the First World War , a hospital was set up in the hall . In 2003/2004 the hall was completely renovated for a year. The listed building is now used for various events such as dance events, theater and concerts. Every year in July, the large amusement park of the Biberacher Schützenfest can be found around the hall .
