Gil Roman

Gil Roman (born November 29, 1960 in Alès ) is a French dancer and choreographer and has been director of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne since 2007, succeeding Maurice Béjart .

biography

Gil Roman started dancing in Montpellier at the age of seven . He later enrolled at the "Académie Princesse Grace Monte Carlo". In 1979 he joined Maurice Béjart's company.

At the beginning of the 1980s Gil Roman danced in the "Adagietto" and from now on participates in all works of Béjart. Gil Roman is also an accomplished choreographer, who mainly signs the choreographies “Clothes don't make people” (1995, Lausanne ) and “Reflection on Bela” (1997, Lausanne).

Gil Roman has been deputy director of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne since 1993 . In 2007 he succeeded Maurice Béjart at the head of the ensemble.
