Gilbert Desmit
Gilbert Desmit (born September 21, 1937 in Bruges ) is a former Belgian swimmer who specialized in chest stretches.
Desmit was a two-time Olympian in 1956 and 1960. In his debut at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, he was over 200 meters chest in his prelude fourth and failed to qualify for the final. Four years later at the Summer Games in Rome he reached the semifinals over the same route, where he did not make it into the finals in sixth place.
