Gilbert Frizberg

Gilbert Frizberg (born February 9, 1956 in Graz ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ), Managing Director and since 2007 Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Verbund AG . Frizberg was a member of the National Council from 1984 to 1991 .

After attending elementary school, Frizberg passed the Matura in 1974 at a general secondary school and then studied law at the University of Graz . Frizberg received his doctorate in 1977. From 1977 onwards, Frizberg worked as an employee and authorized signatory for the company Franz Heresch and Co. and finally took over the position of managing partner of Hereschwerke Frizberg KG. The Hereschwerke had already been founded by Frizberg's grandfather, with Gilbert Frizberg expanding the former power generator into an international electrical engineering automation company with 300 employees. In 2007 he was also elected President of the Supervisory Board of Verbundgesellschaft.

Frizberg was politically active between 1977 and 1979 as chairman of the Styrian Young Industry and was a member of the board of the Association of Austrian Industrialists. He also held the function of a Chamber Council of the Chamber of Commerce for Styria and represented ÖVP in the Styrian Landtag between 1991 and 1995 . Between March 7, 1984 and November 4, 1990, and between December 18, 1990 and October 21, 1991, Frizberg was a member of the National Council. In addition, Frizberg held the position of finance officer of ÖVP Styria for many years, which he resigned after his election to the supervisory board.
