Gilden Kölsch Brewery
The Gilden Kölsch brewery is a Kölsch - brewery in Cologne-Mülheim . The brewery belongs to Haus Kölscher Brautradition GmbH and thus to the Radeberger Group of the Oetker Group .
history
Gilden Kölsch goes back to a brewery founded in 1863 by Franz Lülsdorf's widow, which the beer brewer Michael Greven took over in 1869. He married Wilhelmine Roleff in 1870 and died in 1880. His widow married her master brewer Adam Balsam in 1882 , a relative of her deceased husband. In 1890 the new Balsam OHG brewery was built in Bergisch Gladbacher Str. 122-134 in Cologne-Mülheim. Due to falling beer sales after the First World War , Balsam Brauerei AG merged with Bergische Löwen-Brauerei AG in 1919 to form Balsam Bergische Löwen-Brauerei AG . This brewery was taken over in 1967 by the Dortmunder Union-Brauerei (DUB) (from 1988 Brau und Brunnen AG). It was renamed on July 1, 2002 in Kölner Verbund Brauereien GmbH & Co KG. In 2011 it was renamed Haus Kölscher brewing tradition .
