Gill & Macmillan is a publisher and publisher of school and non-fiction books in Ireland . He is a member of the Irish Book Publishers Association (CLE).

history

The publishing house was founded in 1856 when Michael Henry Gill, printer at the University of Dublin , acquired the publishing rights to the publishing and bookselling business from James McGlashan. The company became known as McGlashan & Gill. In 1968, the company took over the London- based Macmillan Publishers, founded in 1843, and has been operating as Gill & Macmillan ever since. The publisher specializes in the development of school books. Gill & Macmillan publishes primarily educational books for high school and university students as well as a range of general historical non-fiction.

Online service

Gill & Macmillan runs an interactive website for students and teachers. The web-based platform is accessible to the learning environment of Irish schools after registration. Students and teachers can use the website to effectively study topics and exam subjects either independently or together. Teachers can create their own online learning center for each class they teach.
