district
The district is located in the southeast of the province. It borders in the west and north on the central district, in the east on the province of Çorum (district Sungurlu ) and in the south on the province of Kırıkkale (Keis Sulakyurt ). The place is connected to Sungurlu to the east by a road, to the west with Sulakyurt and to the northwest with the D-180, which continues to the D-765 from Çankırı to Kırıkkale . The district is crossed from west to northeast by the river of the same name, Kızılırmak , into which the Terme Çayı (also Acı Çayı ) flows about three kilometers east of the district town .
The district was split off on July 4, 1987 from the southeastern part of the central Çankırı district. Kızılırmak was until then a separate Bucak in this district and had 14,945 inhabitants at the 1985 census. In addition to the district town, the district also consists of 26 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 223 residents. Yukarıalegöz is the largest village with 705 inhabitants. The population density (9.7) is just a third of the provincial average of 28.7 inhabitants per square kilometer.
