Yapraklı is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Çankırı . The place is located about 25 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Çankırı and is home to about a quarter of the district's population. In 1955, Yapraklı became a municipality (Belediye).
The district is located in the (north) east of the province. It is enclosed in the south and west by the central district, and borders on the Ilgaz district in the northwest . Cross-provincial it also has borders with Tosya County ( Kastamonu Province ) in the north and Bayat County in the Çorum Province in the east. The city is connected to the provincial capital in the southwest by a country road. The river Acı Çay (also Büyük Çay or Uluçay ) rises in the north of the district, flows to the southwest and flows into the Terme Çayı at Çankırı . In the north of the district is part of the Geçmiş Dağları Mountains , in the south of the 1,467 meter high Çiçeğinpınar Tepesi .
The district has existed since April 1958 and, in addition to the district town, has 38 villages ( Köy ), which are inhabited by an average of 179 people. With 1,025 inhabitants, Yukarıöz is the largest village. The population density is very low with 12 inhabitants per square kilometer.
