Gimla'ei Israel LaKnesset

Gil - Gimla'ei Israel LaKnesset (Hebrew: גיל - גמלאי ישראל לכנסת; in German "Israeli pensioners in the Knesset") is an Israeli party of pensioners and pensioners. The chairman was Rafi Eitan . Political goals of the party are the social security of pensioners in Israel . In addition, Gil is committed to upholding Jewish traditions and democratic values.

Election success 2006

In the election for the 17th Knesset on March 28, 2006, the party was able, contrary to all polls, to clearly exceed the 2 percent threshold with 5.9%. She won seven seats in the Israeli parliament. Gil formed a parliamentary group with the election winner Kadima and entered the government of Ehud Olmert with two ministers . Rafi Eitan became Minister for the newly created “Pensioners Issues” division.

In the early election of 2009 , Gil only achieved 0.5% and missed re-entry into parliament.
