Gimle (mythology)

Gimle (Gimlé) or Gimli is in Norse mythology the place where the survivors of Ragnarök come to. He is mentioned in the Prose Edda and in the Völuspá . There it is considered the most beautiful place in Asgard and even more beautiful than the sun.

The Norwegian fascist politician and Prime Minister Vidkun Quisling (1887–1945) named his Oslo residence, the Villa Grande , based on this mythology in Gimle .
