Gintaras Didžiokas

Gintaras Didžiokas (born August 10, 1966 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian politician. Didžiokas was a member of the European Parliament for the Lietuvos valstiečių liaudininkų sąjunga (Lithuanian Peasant People's Union) from 2004 to 2009 . He was a member of the Union for a Europe of Nations group, of which he was Vice-Chairman from 2006.

Life

Didžiokas studied at the Kaunas Technological University and graduated in radio electronics in 1991. He also obtained a master's degree in international business administration from Moscow International University in 2004 . Didžiokas worked as an engineer in the communications service of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania and was deputy head of the department from 1991. In 1992 he was appointed director of the GmbH "Europuls ir Co".

Didžiokas was a member of the New Democracy Party (ND) and was elected deputy chairman in 2000. From October 19, 2000, he was a member of the Lithuanian Parliament ( Seimas ) and was a member of the committees for state administration and local self-government, commercial economy and employment and a member of the anti-corruption committee. In addition, Didžiokas was an observer in the European Parliament from 2003 to 2004. On June 22, 2004 Didžiokas resigned from the Lithuanian Parliament and moved to the European Parliament.
