Giovanni Andrea Dragoni

Giovanni Andrea Dragoni (* around 1540 in Meldola ; † December 1598 in Rome ) was an Italian conductor and composer.

Life

Since Dragoni was a relative and pupil of Palestrina , he received the position of Kapellmeister at the Episcopal Church of San Giovanni in Laterano in Rome, which he held until his death. He created several works of sacred vocal music, including polyphonic madrigals , villanelles and motets .
