Giovanni Cannata (born September 17, 1985 in Remscheid , Germany ) is an Italian football player .
Giovanni Cannata began his career in the youth department of FC Remscheid . In 1996 he moved to the Bayer 04 Leverkusen juniors . In Leverkusen he made the leap into the amateur team of the club in the 2003/04 season, which was playing in the Oberliga Nordrhein at that time. For the 2007/08 season he left Bayer 04 Leverkusen II heading north to Kickers Emden . On September 20, 2008 Giovanni Cannata played his first game in the 3rd division against SC Paderborn 07 . After Kickers Emden's license revocation, Cannata moved to Rot-Weiss Essen in the 2009/10 season and signed a contract until the end of the season, this contract was not extended.
Since January 2012 he has been playing for FC Bergheim 2000 in the Mittelrhein regional league. For the 2012/13 season, Cannata moved to SV Hüsten 09 .
