Gypsum fiber board

Gypsum fiber boards are used in the same way as plasterboard in interior and dry construction. These are plasterboards reinforced with fibers and without cardboard coating. They can be used in wet areas without further impregnation . They show good fire protection behavior, building material class A2 non-flammable according to DIN 4102. The reinforcement with glass or cellulose fibers makes them more stable than 12.5 mm plasterboard. The main manufacturers in the German market are James Hardie (Fermacell), Saint-Gobain Rigips (Rigidur) and Knauf Gips KG .

Common dimensions are 100 cm × 150 cm with a thickness of 10 mm. In the case of screed elements made of this material, two panels are glued 5 cm apart. These elements usually have dimensions of around 50 cm × 100 cm.
