Giulio Haas

Giulio Haas (* 1956 in Domat / Ems ; resident in Domat) is a Swiss diplomat .

Life

He studied at the University of Bern and has a doctorate in law. In 1988, after completing the Concours diplomatique, he started working for the FDFA . He completed his stages in Geneva at the GATT negotiations, in Bangkok and Berne, and in 1990 he became a diplomatic assistant in the International Law Section at the Directorate for International Law. In 1994 he became the first secretary of the embassy in Carcas, and in 1996 head of the Politics and Institutions section of the integration office. From 2001 to 2006, he was Minister for Economic Affairs at the Embassy in Washington.

From 2008 to 2013 he worked for the private bank Wegelin & Co. , which has since been dissolved and partially transferred to Bank Notenstein . From 2013 to 2017 he was the accredited ambassador of Switzerland to Tehran, and since then he has represented Switzerland in Spain.
