Giuseppe Manghenoni
Giuseppe Manghenoni (* before 1816, † after 1821) was an Italian composer and opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Manghenoni is said to have been a contemporary witness and friend of Gaetano Donizetti's (1797–1848) children . He studied with him in Bergamo. In 1816 he is said to have set off from Bergamo to Venice to settle there as a composer and music teacher.
Manghenoni studied composition with Johann Simon Mayr and was trained as a tenor in Bergamo . In Genoa in 1821 he composed the motet Oh Deus quot me circundat for tenor and bass. Manghenoni appeared mainly as a tenor at various opera houses in Italy and on Corfu . He wrote piano reductions of several operas by Johann Simon Mayr.
