Gīv returns to Iran with Farangis and Kai Chosrau

Gīv , also Gev or Gew , is a hero of Iranian mythology and an important figure in the Iranian national epic Shāhnāme of Firdausi . He was the son of Gūdarz , father of Bīžan and, through marriage to Gošasp Bānu , with Rückert Banuguschasp , son-in-law of Rostam .

Gīv's father, Gūdarz, describes his son as follows:

"Your step be wonderfully near and far
and your world-shining star shining.
Since mother gave birth to you
full of praise, the earth's circle is full of praise. "

Gīv receives the order from his father to find Kai Chosrau and to bring him to Iran. Kai Chosrau was born after the death of his father Siyawasch and was placed in the care of shepherds near Bamiyan . Gīv went to Turan , found Kai Chosrau and brought him to Iran with his mother Farangīs . After his return to Iran, Kai Chosrau was welcomed by his grandfather Shah Kai Kawus and appointed heir to the throne.
