Gjyste Vulaj

Gjyste Vulaj (born Gjyste Dedvukaj , July 9, 1977 , in Vuksanlekići , SFR Yugoslavia , now Montenegro ) is an Albanian singer. Her musical style is assigned to folklore and turbo folk.

Life

Career

Gjyste took part in some talent competitions at a young age. Together with her producer and husband at the same time, she released her first album in 2000. "Dasma E Madhe", "Ik ore plak" and "Veq per ty" were among the most successful and best-known titles at the time. She then released her second album and a video cassette in 2001, and the singer's popularity rose in the following years. With hits like "Jam E embel si Sheqer" or "Vdeksha per ty" she made a name for herself in the Albanian music scene. Vulaj has also often appeared in TV events such as the annual New Year's Eve show Gëzuar. With 15 published albums, she is still one of the most successful singers in the Albanian region.

Private

Gjyste writes her own songs and often works as a graphic designer on her video clips. She is married to her producer Sokol Vulaj and they have a daughter named Rozana and a son named Besart. The family lives in Podgorica .
