Brauck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gladbeck Brauck is the southernmost district of Gladbeck and borders the Gelsenkirchen district of Horst , Bottrop- Boy and the Essen district of Karnap .

The Brauck district is still characterized by mining today. There are several mine dumps that are still being poured today. The mines originally located in the district have been closed. On the premises of the Graf Moltke 3/4 colliery , on Helmutstrasse right next to the motorway, an industrial park was built with EU funding .

The settlement and colliery houses were sold to the tenants in 2003/2004, who lovingly made them one of the most family and child-friendly districts in the city based on the monument protection of the city of Gladbeck.

For example, no other district has as much garden on average as in Brauck.

Furthermore, the south of Gladbeck is best known for its high proportion of foreigners. New primary school classes have up to 90% students with a migration background, and the trend is rising. The main reasons for this lie in the settlement of all (mainly Turkish) guest workers in the 1950s in so-called colliery settlements, some of which have been renovated and still exist today.
