Glamping Kirwee Wagonstay

Term, definition, target groups, status

The term is an English suitcase word and stands for luxurious forms of camping . The term was first identified in Great Britain in 2005, and neologism was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2016 . Alternative names are boutique camping, luxury camping, comfort camping and noble camping. Bookers see glamping as a variant of nature tourism, which does not have to do without comfort.

Glamping accommodations are now available on many campsites, but also in the great outdoors; z. B. in national parks. The offers often include generous furnishings such as large beds and a private bathroom as well as relaxation areas.

Glamping bids outside of campsites are aimed primarily at package tourists - for example as accommodation on safaris .

The glamping spectrum now includes all continents, all climatic zones and different experience concepts. Many European campsites show at least part of their offer as glamping.

Ecological Footprint

The ecological footprint of non-European glamping offers can - as with most long-distance trips - be above average. You will arrive by plane . The distance from the nearest airport to the location is covered either with off-road SUVs or less often with helicopters . The length of stay is usually short and the location is quickly re-let. Due to the often extreme temperatures on site, there is a high need for heating or cooling. The need for personnel is high, and food also has to be flown in. Since these are usually uninhabited landscapes, the flora and fauna can at least be irritated by the incoming tourists, and in some cases also damaged.

Resourceful vendors have recognized this deficit and therefore offer eco-lodges on that promise ecologically-oriented Glamping. Independent studies on the correctness of these statements are not yet available.
