Glashütte Original is one of the watch brands from Glashütte (Saxony) and is manufactured in the watch manufacture of the Glashütte watch company . In addition to the A. Lange & Söhne watch brand , it is one of the two most prestigious watch brands from Glashütte .
history
While the roots of the brand go back to 1845, the brand has existed under its current name since 1994, four years after reunification . From the beginning, only mechanical watches with in-house calibers have been manufactured.
In 2000 the brand was taken over by the Swatch Group .
Today, watches from the Glashütte Original brand consist of 95% in-house components, including the dials. This is unusual even for a luxury watch manufacturer.

The product range today comprises five model series, each divided into different models. These model series are:

Every Glashütte Original wristwatch is provided with an exclusive four-digit serial number, which on the one hand contributes to its exclusivity, as a maximum of 10,000 copies per model are possible, on the other hand prevents counterfeiting and in the event of theft enables it to be assigned to the true owner.
Sponsorship
The brand has been a long-term sponsor and award winner of various cultural events, such as the Dresden Music Festival or the Berlinale .
