The Global Strategies Group , formerly Global Risk Strategies, is a private security and military company that was founded in 1998 as a two-man company. Global Strategies is a member of the Private Security Company Association of Iraq and the British Association of Private Security Companies , two advocacy groups for private security and military companies.

Areas of application

Afghanistan

Global was commissioned by the Asia Foundation in 2002 to help with the planning, implementation and administration of voter registration. Support was also given during the election. During this work contact was made with local guides, threat analyzes were carried out and safe routes were scouted. This contract ended in 2004. During this time, up to 93 Global employees were on duty.

Iraq

Global has been responsible for the security of the cargo and passenger terminals at Baghdad Airport since July 2004 and receives $ 4.5 million per month for this. This mandate also includes training Iraqis to be security guards. Global took on this assignment from Custer Battles . But there are always problems with the payment of the Iraqi government. Between November and December 2004, the sum of outstanding bills rose to up to 17 million US dollars . This resulted in the airport being closed several times, for example June 23-24, 2005, for several days. This prompted the Iraqi government to intervene and dispatched troops to reopen the airport.

Another assignment that Global carried out was the provision of security personnel and the provision of logistics services during the change from the old to the new Iraqi dinar .

In northern Iraq, Global protects convoys transporting humanitarian goods on behalf of the Coalition Provisional Authority .

Company acquisitions

On February 9, 2007, Global announced that it had acquired SFA Inc. SFA is a company that develops and manufactures information systems. Well-known customers include the US Army, Navy and Coast Guard .
