Globo de Ouro

Globos de Ouro is a prize awarded annually since 1996 by the Portuguese television broadcaster SIC and Caras magazine, covering several categories in the field of art and entertainment in Portugal such as theater, sports, cinema, fashion and music. The award ceremony will be broadcast by the television station SIC.

history

Since 1996, awards have been given to best film, best director, best actor and best actress in the cinema area. In the area of ​​sport, fashion and theater, the personality of the year is given an award. In the field of music, the awards are given to the best interpreter, the best music group and the best song. In the television category, awards are given to the best information program presenter, the best entertainment program presenter, the best fiction and comedy program, the best entertainment program and the best information program. There was also a Globo de Ouro for a person's life's work until 2001, which was renamed the Award for Merit and Excellence in 2002.

In 2000 and 2001 awards were also given in the radio sector.

As of 2002, Best Actor and Best Actress in Fiction and Comedy Programs were also recognized.
