Godefridus de Mescede

Godefridus de Mescede , service title magister consulum , was mayor of the city of Brilon from 1259 to 1260 .

Ludolf von Metzenchusen mentions him in a document from 1258 regarding an exemption privilege for the city of Brilon together with the judge Theodericus and twelve councilors (consules) as witnesses in the function of magister consolum (mayor)

In city feuds, the mayor was in charge of the city's armed forces, and he had the right to pardon harsh convictions by the city court for criminal offenses . He could pardon the death penalty .
