Goiabada

Goiabada is a Brazilian sweet made from the Goiaba fruit, also known as guava in Germany .

Goiabada is a mass made from goiabas that is thickened with sugar and is similar to jam , but its consistency is much firmer. The traditionally produced goiabada is shaped into bars and sold in small wooden boxes, in industrial production it is often given a round shape and comes in a tin can . Together with Minas cheese , it becomes “Goiabada com Queijo”, a traditional Brazilian dessert that is eaten all over Brazil. "Goiabada com Queijo" is also called "Romeu e Julieta" ( Romeo and Juliet ) because the two go together so perfectly.
