exploration

It was first traveled by expedition leader Reinhold Bauböck and his team in October 2002 as part of the "Adventure Ethiopia" expedition. The expedition lasted a total of six days. The navigation of the river began at Amiyo and ended at the mouth of the river in the Omo , a total of 180 kilometers were covered. The Omo was also used later, about 820 kilometers. In the report it was shown that in addition to the geographical difficulties, such as whitewater sections, which were more difficult to pass, there were also biological problems, which were represented by crocodiles, hippos and flies. Bauböck later published his expedition results in his book Adventure Ethiopia .
