Golden Star (also: The Golden Star ) is a local newspaper in Golden , British Columbia , Canada . The owner is the newspaper publisher Black Press , and Michele LaPointe was the editor-in-chief in February 2017. The Golden Star appears in print as well as online. The print edition appears once a week on a Wednesday.

history

The origins of the Golden Star go back to 1891 when the newspaper was founded by an Australian mining engineer during the so-called Golden Era. The newspaper was given its current name twelve years later by a new owner. Subsequently, the newspaper was run by the Fish family for 60 years. In 2003, the Golden Star became a member of the Brunch Conversations Networking Group (BCNG).

In November 2016, the newspaper had a circulation of 1,141 copies.
