Golden Psalter of St. Gallen
The Golden Psalter of St. Gallen is a Carolingian illuminated manuscript that was created in the second half of the 9th century in the St. Gallen monastery .
The psalter consists of 344 parchment leaves , its format is 363 x 265 mm. In addition to initials, the book decoration consists of two full-page miniatures and 15 irregularly distributed full-page or half-page illustrations for the psalm mentuli. After Psalm 72 there are no more illustrations.
The manuscript is now in the St. Gallen Abbey Library (Cod. 22).
