Golpe

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The golpe (Spanish for “blow”) describes a percussive playing technique, especially with the flamenco guitar, and can be performed in different ways. With this technique, the area of the guitar body protected by a golpeador is struck. With this technique, accents can be set or reinforced. In particular, it is possible to play a golf course between playing or at the same time as playing the strings. There is the striking with a finger (usually ring finger or thumb, depending on whether the index finger has previously made an upward or downward movement - especially with rasgueado ), where the fingernail and the fingertip of the right hand (right-handed guitar) hit the guitar top at the same time making a tapping sound . The middle finger can be used to hit the guitar top and the strings at the same time . The thumb is struck with a twist from the wrist. It can be struck with all fingers at the same time, which additionally mutes the strings played.

In sheet music editions, Golpe is displayed with the letter G or a square.
