Trivia

On September 29, 2015, the former Google employee Sanmay Ved managed to buy the Google.com domain through Google domains from Google, thereby gaining full webmaster control. Google later confirmed the purchase and rewarded Ved with the sum of $ 6006.13. The latter in turn asked for the reward to be donated to charitable organizations. As a result, Google doubled the amount. The reason for the unusual amount was that it should represent the Google lettering.
