The US company Google Inc. sells its search technology under the name Google Search Appliance to companies who can use it on their intranet . The Search Appliance is a server with preinstalled software that performs the same task in the company's own network that Google does for the Internet . Documents are held in the index, the size of which varies depending on the server model (up to 100 million), and search queries are answered.

history

Google Search Appliance products will no longer be sold as of 2017, and existing licenses will then only be extended by one year. The product will be completely discontinued in 2019.

Google mini

The Google Mini was a server sold by Google Inc. until 2012 that was designed for use in offices and small businesses. This could save up to 300,000 documents in the index. The server primarily fulfilled the function of a search engine and was intended as a hardware rack for integration into the company's servers.
