Gorbachev Foundation

The Gorbachev Foundation ( Gorbachev Fund ) is a foundation to support socio-economic and political research. It has offices in Russia , the USA and Germany ( Düsseldorf ).

It was founded in 1992 by Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev , who is also its president. Gorbachev's daughter Irina Mikhailovna Wirganskaya is the Foundation's vice-president.

aims

The main goals of the foundation are:

  • international understanding
  • promoting peace in the world (including peace research )
  • the fight against poverty
  • youth, education and training, youth exchanges
  • humanitarian aid (especially in the medical field)
  • bringing Russia closer to Europe
  • environmental Protection

The foundation is also active in the field of leukemia research and research into globalization trends and their effects.
