The gordingstek is a knot that is used to permanently attach a leash to a ring.
application
The Gordingstek is suitable for permanently attaching a leash to a ring, shackle or spar. It is very compact and holds securely. This allows the full length of the rope to be used. After undue stress is difficult to open, it is therefore particularly suitable for attaching the shackle on the case .
Knot
The gordingstek consists of two half beats around the fixed part. But unlike the round trip with two half beats , you start from the outside and put the second half beat inwards to the loop so that it pinches when you pull it shut. The loose part can be kept very short.
When placed on slip, a very stable, quick-release knot (ABoK # 1712) for tying up horses or small boats is created.
Alternatives
- Speleologists use the cave knot
- Tabs use the tie-in node
