Gordon test

The Gordon test is a detection method for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract , in which there is a massive loss of protein due to various causes (see Gordon syndrome ).

The test is carried out using 131 I - (radioactively) labeled polyvinylpyrrolidone , which can be measured in the stool after excretion. This diagnostic method, developed in 1959, is rarely used in clinical practice today.

Recently the procedure has been modified by the use of 51 Cr -human serum albumin .
