Gordon Odametey
Gordon Odametey (* 20th century in Beje Wo Ahumi , Ghana ) is a percussionist from Ghana who lives in Germany.
biography
Gordon Odametey was born in the village of Beje Wo Ahumi. He comes from a family that has produced many drummers and dancers. He gave drum lessons in a drum school near Accra . Gordon Odametey has lived in Germany since 1985. He played with No Fears, Bibiba, Root B. Tama, The World Music Orchestra, Mustapha Tettey Addy and Aja Addy, among others.
With the band Ogidi Gidi , which he founded in 1987, he played as opening act for Black Uhuru and The Wailers . Since 2006 he has accompanied the Afrobeat Academy , which tours with Adé Bantu .
