Gored Gored ( Amharic : ጎረድ ጎረድ ) is a dish from the Ethiopian cuisine .

Word origin

Gored Gored is derived from the Amharic word gwarade , which denotes a type of sword.

Characteristic

Gored Gored is made from raw, unmarinated beef and served cut into cubes. It is often with Awaze , a sharp seasoning sauce, and Nitir qibe , spiced butter, flavored with lemon pieces and injera , the Ethiopian flatbread served. The fat is often drained and consumed separately.

Health aspects

The inadequate availability of high-quality beef in Ethiopia has led to many people suffering from worm infestation from eating raw meat . For some years now, there has been a trend to replace beef with goat meat , which is harmless to health.
