Gorm Transgaard (born September 1, 1966 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish comic book writer who is known for his work at Disney . His favorite characters are Dagobert Duck and Donald Duck .

Life

Transgaard was born on September 1, 1966 in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, and even as a child enjoyed drawing, especially Disney characters. So he turned to Egmont at the age of 16 , whereupon the publishing house recognized his talent and trained him. But he dropped the project because the work as a teenager seemed too hard to him. Instead, he worked part-time at Gimle, a studio for young comic artists. Here he drew comic strips or worked on storyboards .

In 1990 an editor from Egmont got in touch again and offered Traansgard to draw scribbles for Disney. The 24-year-old accepted the offer and started working at Egmont, while studying at the same time. After graduating, he was hired as an advertising consultant for an advertising agency, mainly working on strategies for children's advertising campaigns. The job was too boring for him, after which Traansgard traveled the world for four years. Meanwhile, he was writing and drawing stories in hotel rooms.

Eventually he bought a piece of rainforest in Costa Rica with some friends and built a small village there, where he still lives today.
