Goslarsche Gleie

Goslarsche Gleie is a cut in the terrain not far from the Hasserode district of Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains , through which a road to Goslar already led in the Middle Ages . Copper ore was mined in Goslarschen Gleie until the 17th century. The most famous pit was St. Georg, some remains of which can still be seen in the area. With ore from the Goslarschen Gleie was u. a. supplies the smelter on the Beerberg . Today a marked hiking trail leads through the Goslarsche Gleie from the Bielsteinchaussee up to the Mönchsbuche .
