Gotthard Dobmeier

Gotthard Dobmeier (* 1944 ) is a German Catholic theologian.

Career

After studying philosophy and theology, Dobmeier was the diocesan chairman of the Federation of German Catholic Youth in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising for four years . Afterwards he worked for 14 years as a consultant for socio-political issues at the Katholische Landvolkshochschule Petersberg , where he focused on questions of rural areas and agriculture as well as nature and environmental protection. In 1986 he was appointed the first environmental officer of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising with a focus on environmental education and environmental advice. He remained in this position for 21 years and was meanwhile also the central contact of the German Bishops' Conference for environmental issues. For many years he has been the organist in the Peter & Paul Church in Erdweg .
