Gouryella is a trance project from the Netherlands , founded by Tiësto and Ferry Corsten . The name comes from the Aboriginal language and means "heaven".

Career

Gouryella represented the typical Dutch epic trance . Her productions were very successful within the trance scene and beyond. The very complex computer-generated video clips for music television were striking. The clips dealt with philosophical topics that underline the epic character of music (human-machine relationship, question of the creator , meaning of evolution , etc.).

Tiësto finally left the project due to lack of time. A joint future continuation seemed rather unlikely, since Tiësto's musical development has moved away from trance. The last single before the comeback, Ligaya , was produced in 2002 by Ferry Corsten with John Ewbank .

In May 2015 Ferry Corsten presented a new single on his radio show with Anahera, which clearly continues the musical style of that time. Both the distinctive bassline, the epic break and the melodies are typical of Gouryella again. Subsequently, the single Neba was released in June 2016.
