Gowerscher telephone

The Gower telephone is an electroacoustic telephone that has been further developed by Gower and is based on the improved Siemens model .

functionality

The Gower telephone is made in the shape of a clock with a flat horseshoe magnet aa curved in the shape of a semicircle . The poles of the magnet are provided with tips of soft iron, on each of which there is an induction coil b .

The entire device is enclosed by a housing, the cover of which carries the vibrating membrane, while the mouthpiece is attached in the form of a tube opposite the membrane for easier handling.

A whistle serves as a signaling device for the call .
