Skrapstad burial ground

The cemetery of Skrapstad (Swedish: Skrapstads gravfält ) is a prehistoric grave conditioning in Skrapstad north of Sävsjö in the Swedish municipality of Sävsjö in the historical province of Småland .

The cemetery was characterized by a wide variety of forms of prehistoric burial forms. There are around 140 stone settings , including several three-pointed stars and two particularly large flat stone settings. A burial mound dating from the Bronze Age is located to the north of a tenant's hut on the site .

In 1934 one of the three-pronged structures was excavated, but no findings could be made. It seems conceivable that this is a mock grave , a so-called cenotaph , for a person buried elsewhere.
