The DJK Sportverein Grün-Weiß Hochspeyer eV was a multi-discipline sports club from the Palatinate town of Hochspeyer . From 1973 to 1975 the club played in soccer in the 1st Southwest Amateur League .

history

The original association was regularly founded in 1908 as a Catholic young men ’s association. A soccer team was formed within this club, which joined the DJK Association in 1917 and played soccer regularly. The game was initially played in the so-called Brückental, but later the forest administration was able to lease an area in the Springental. When this lease expired, a site was acquired at the location on Kirchstrasse, which still exists today. At that time it was still half quarry, half forest. A playing field of 100 × 60 m was created through own work. In 1933, in the wake of the National Socialist seizure of power, the DJK sports association was also dissolved, and with it the Hochspeyerer Verein as well.

After the end of the war, the wooded region initially had other priorities than doing sport. It was not until the beginning of the 1950s that the Catholic youth in the Hochspeyer Kolping Family had the desire to play actively again. On February 15, 1954, the now so named DJK Grün-Weiss Hochspeyer was re-established in the Gasthof Pfälzer Wald as the legal successor to the DJK Hochspeyer, which was dissolved in 1933. In July 1955, the first friendly game took place, with which Green-White presented itself to the public for the first time. After a hint from the DJK umbrella association, the club joined the Southwest German Football Association as a member a little later. This resulted in a large number of new registrations, which meant that several youth teams and two men's teams could participate in the game. In addition to the creation of floodlights and a gym, green and white also went up in terms of sport. The first men's team rose from the C-class to the amateur league Southwest , the highest amateur class in the DFB area at the time. In the first season 1973/74, the newcomer took 4th place. In the following season 1974/75, however, they rose again from bottom of the table.

Due to a lack of young talent, only two men's teams have recently played for Grün-Weiß. The club was a member of JFV Leinbach, founded in 2014, which had teams in all junior age groups. Other members of the youth development association at that time were the neighboring TuS Hochspeyer and the associations from Fischbach, Frankenstein, Mölschbach, Waldleinigen and Weidenthal.

On May 25, 2018, the two sports clubs TuS 1882 Hochspeyer e. V. and the DJK Sportverein Grün-Weiß Hochspeyer e. V. to the Sport Community 2018 Hochspeyer e. V. (short form: SG 2018 Hochspeyer e.V. ) passed with a large majority. The new association is obliged by statute to continue the traditions of its predecessors.
