The statute establishing the Silesian Province ( Statute organiczny Województwa Śląskiego ), actually constitutional statute ( Ustawa Konstytucyjna ) from 15. July 1920 at the initiative of Wojciech Korfanty of the Polish National Constituent Assembly ( Sejm Ustawodawczy decided) and endowed the province Silesia with a far-reaching autonomy from.

The statute contained the basic guidelines, rights and obligations of the Silesian Voivodeship within Poland . It regulated the establishment of the Silesian Parliament (Schlesischer Sejm) with 48 seats, which in turn appointed a Voivodeship Council and had legislative power within Silesia. However, foreign policy and military affairs were beyond his competence and were subject to the Warsaw Parliament. In addition, the statute established the Silesian Treasury, which withheld 50% of the collected income and transferred the remaining 50% to the Republic of Poland.
