Tomb of the Marquis of Cai in Shouxian
The tomb of the Marquis of Cai in Shouxian or the tomb of the Marquis of Cai in Shouxian (Chinese: Shòuxiàn Cài hóu mù, 寿县 蔡侯 墓 or Shòuxiàn Xīmén Cài hóu mù, 寿县 西门 蔡侯 墓; English Tomb of Marquis of Cai in Shouxian) is a grave from the late spring and autumn periods in Ximen, Shou County ("Shouxian"), Anhui Province , China.
The grave was excavated in 1955. The finds included whole sets of bronze objects, most of them with inscriptions. Complete sets of the musical instruments Yongzhong (甬 钟, Yong Bells), Bianbo (编 镈, Bianbo Glockenspiel) and Bianzhong (编钟, Bianzhong Glockenspiel) have also been unearthed, as well as a large number of accessories for chariots and horses, jade jewelry and a bronze mirror.
The more recent research assumes that the tomb owner was the Margrave Zhao of Cai named Shen ( Cai Zhao hou Shen蔡昭侯 申, 518–491 BC).
