The Ehrenhard family tomb is a memorial in Darmstadt .
History and description
The Ehrenhard family's tomb resembles a small mausoleum . Stylistically, the grave complex is a mixture of Art Nouveau and Expressionism . Typical details are the expressionist columns with the spheres, the Egyptian capitals of the pilaster strips and the stepped gable . In the middle of the gable there is an Art Nouveau ornament. Behind the wrought iron gate there is a symbolic burial chamber . On the back wall of the burial chamber there is a life-size relief of a woman with a child.
