History and description
The tomb commemorates Max Edler von Planitz, who fell in France in 1915. The tomb from 1920 is a work by Ludwig Habich . Stylistically, the monument is one of the early expressionist works. It shows a kneeling warrior who, with the last of his strength, hides behind his protective shield. The plastic damaged on the right arm was carved from a block of shell limestone .
