Graphic literature

In the broadest sense, graphic literature is understood to mean any form of writing or book in which something is expressed or told with images. The term is often mistakenly used as a synonym for comic or sophisticated author's comics.

In contrast to conventional literature, the entertaining aspect predominates in graphic literature due to the visual representation. It starts with picture books for children and goes all the way to picture books for adult readers, such as photo and art books. Furthermore, the cartoon (independent humorous illustration) or the caricature (overdrawing) can be included in the definition of graphic literature. A novel whose action is represented by sequential image sequences are called graphic novel or graphic novel .
