Graham crackers

The graham cracker is an American biscuit . The graham cracker was inspired by preacher Sylvester Graham who was part of a movement in the 19th century. Graham believed that a vegetarian diet made from homemade whole wheat flour and its products such as whole wheat bread , crackers and cakes included minimizing pleasure and stimulation of all kinds and that this was the lifestyle that God intended for people to be naturally healthy. His sermon was widely used in the United States during the cholera pandemic from 1829 to 1851. His followers, the grahamites, formed one of the first vegetarian movements in the USA and spread the graham cracker throughout the USA.
