Cracker [ ˈkɾɛ.kɐ ] ( listen ? / I ) are thin, crispy, dry biscuit-like savory biscuits that originally developed from ship's biscuits and hard biscuits . Composition and consumption

Crackers contain table salt , and some types also contain cheese or spices as additional ingredients .

They are finger food and are either eaten unchanged, topped as canapés or with a dip . Crackers are also served as an accompaniment to wine , beer, and cheese .
